In this monthly series of classes, we’ll focuses on one big Computer Science topic each class. Students learn core computer science ideas in hands-on activities and leave with resources to explore further.
The course is designed to complement student’s Computer Science classes at school and to strengthen conceptual understanding for students preparing for standardized tests (e.g., GCSE).
Anyone can join!
There are no coding requirements or other pre-requisites.
Computer Science — Bits to Bytes is a hands-on, deep dive into the core ideas in Computer Science. Kids explore topics such as computer networks, understanding memory and storage, building circuits, and coding embedded systems and sensors. We’ll also learn about cyber security, operating systems, and cutting edge topics like AI, Large Language Models (LLM), blockchains, and the emerging field of quantum computing.
Computer science education broadly divides into learning to code and learning how computer technology works. This class focuses on the latter: the concepts, hardware, and systems that make software possible. Each monthly session concentrates on a single topic and gives students hands-on activities plus clear next steps so they can continue learning outside the classroom.

Students explore what happens inside a computer — from processors and memory to storage and operating systems.
They learn how different components work together to process information and run the technology they use every day.
Students discover how computers communicate, how data travels across networks, and how digital systems stay secure.
They explore networking and cybersecurity through hands-on activities and real-world examples.
Students explore the technologies shaping the future, including AI, Large Language Models, blockchain, and quantum computing.
They learn how these technologies work, why they matter, and how they may change the world around us.
Twice a Month · 2nd & 4th Week
Explore how computers and technology really work through hands-on experiments and activities. Each class introduces different Computer Science topics, from hardware and networks to cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
Highlights
Dive deeper into Computer Science through a focused 5-day program. Each camp explores different technologies and challenges, so students can join again and discover something new each time.
Highlights
Explore a specific Computer Science topic through a short, hands-on workshop. Topics change regularly, so students can join multiple workshops and continue discovering new areas of technology.
